Quality & Safety
The best ophthalmic surgeons in Sydney
At Focus, you can have confidence in the skills and expertise of our accredited ophthalmic surgeons in Sydney. From your first consultation through to surgery and recovery, you’re cared for by the same surgeon, someone who knows your history, your condition and your goals.
Every patient journey starts at our Kensington rooms, where you’ll be thoroughly assessed using advanced diagnostic technology and seen by a surgeon who specialises in your condition. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of your diagnosis and treatment options.
Many treatments, including injections and eye drops, take place right here at our Kensington rooms. Laser and surgical procedures are arranged at an accredited hospital or specialist facility across Sydney, with the same personal care and follow-up support throughout.
Your care doesn’t end after treatment. You’ll be seen for follow-up back at Focus, with your surgeon monitoring your recovery and results.
Every surgeon at Focus is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO), holding full specialist accreditation and operating rights at the hospitals and specialist facilities where they perform surgery. Each of these facilities is independently accredited to national clinical safety standards.
At FOCUS we implement the National Safety and Quality in Health Service NSQHS Standards
The Australian Commission on Quality and Safety in Healthcare has developed the NQSHS Standards to improve the quality and safety of healthcare in Australia. The NSQHS Standards provide a nationally consistent framework for the level of care consumers can expect from health services.

If you are seeking or receiving care in the Australian health system, you have certain rights regarding the nature of that care. These are described in the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights. These rights relate to access, safety, respect, communication, participation, privacy and comment.
At Focus Eye Centre we are committed to implementing and instilling The Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights into our practice, as it allows patients, consumers, families, carers and providers to share an understanding of the rights of people receiving health care.
